Jimmy Kimmel pummeled former President Donald Trump during his monologue on Monday, which is not really news. But when he brought up Trump’s recent comments about getting the U.S. military to go after the “enemy from within,” that seemed to get Kimmel a bit shook.
At about the 6:07 mark, Kimmel mentioned the warnings by Gen. Mark Milley, Trump’s former chairman of the Joint Chiefs, who told Bob Woodward in his new book War that Trump was “the most dangerous person to this country” and “fascist to the core.” Then he asked: Where would he get an idea like that?”
Then he rolled the clip of Trump talking to Fox’s Maria Bartiromo, saying: “I think the bigger problem is the enemy from within … We have some very bad people. We have some sick people, radical left lunatics. And I think they’re, and it should be very easily handled by, if necessary, by National Guard, or if really necessary by the military.”
Kimmel responded:
Just a former president suggesting he’ll use the military against his fellow citizens for exercising their freedom of speech. Nothing to worry about, folks! Seriously, when is he going to grow that little mustache already? Because there’s only three weeks left. You got to get started.
